Research now tells us that sitting at your desk is the new smoking: five or more hours of sedentary sitting is the health equivalent of smoking a pack and a quarter of cigarettes. Yikes! This is not the healthiest way to work.

Consider that the average corporate employee spends approximately 6 – 7 hours a day sitting – and that doesn’t count travel time, in car, subway or bus!

I am always reminding my corporate clients to try and stand every 20 minutes – just to get the blood flowing! – and this article really explains why:

So take a break, do some shoulder stretches, maybe some calf raises, and maybe even some cat/cow stretches for your spine at your desk. It will not only make you feel better, it can make you healthier!

Movement is everything, so get moving!
